Imran Hussain

Imran is an academic, technology entrepreneur, interaction designer, and user experience consultant and specializes in creating mobile and web-enabled applications based on user-centered design approaches with a strong focus on improving software quality and the customer experience. He has worked extensively around the globe in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region and has 15 years’ experience of working with corporate enterprises, software development firms, government organizations, and new technology startups.

Imran is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Director at the Interaction Design Center (www.ixdc.org) at the University of Management and Technology, Lahore (www.umt.edu.pk), and is founder of Cogmentix (www.cogmentix.com) – a user experience consulting and mobile applications development firm. He is also founder of the Lahore Apple User Group LAUG (www.laug.org), runs Experience Matters (www.experiencematters.pk) – a blog on service design and software usability, and organized World Usability Day 2008 in Lahore which was the first ever public event in Pakistan on usability.

Imran holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK, and a graduate degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Paisley, UK.
